Music On Hold | Message On Hold
Music on hold and message on hold devices are basically the same thing. The intent of the message on hold machine is to deliver to your phone system a pre-recorded message or a pre-recorded music.
Some music on hol d or message on hold devices will play a CD over and over, although most of the music on hold machines today have internal memory that store your music or message as an MP3 and then delivers this message via a cable, similar to a headphone cable with no headphones on the other side.
They all have different ways of getting your message into the message on hold machine. Some will pull it directly off a CD, some will pull it off of a USB memory stick, but in the end, the message loud and clear, get you callers who are on hold to hear your message! It really is a very powerful way of telling your customers things you want them to hear.
Message and music on hold can be used to tell your customers about certain specials you may have at the time or you can inform them of services you offer they may not have known you had.
Just about any phone system on the market today is going to have a music on hold input. Some phone systems literally have a jack right on the system. Either RCA or headphone size. A majority of the system however are going to require that you have the music on hold wire punched down at a specific spot on the 66 block that feeds station cables or phone lines to your phone system.
To that end, it may be that you need a qualified phone technician to install a music on hold device to your phone system.
If you have the more simple analog multi line phones, they will most often NOT have ANY way to input music on hold. Intellitouch has combatted this with the use a TEHMA, see above. Call Today for a quote!
